Postgraduate applicants

We have some accommodation specifically for postgraduate students

Although we cannot guarantee University accommodation for all postgraduates if you still want to apply for a room, we will do our best to assist you.

You can log in to and complete the application form via our Accommodation Portal. To access the Accommodation Portal for the first time, you will need to set a password using the 'Create Account' option. You will then receive an email with a link to create a new password. Once you have created a new password, you should log in with your email and your password.

International postgraduates

We guarantee to make you an offer of University arranged accommodation if you are an international postgraduate (paying tuition fees at the international rate) and are:

  • new to Leeds
  • require single accommodation.

You also need to apply by the application deadlines.

UK postgraduates

We do not guarantee University accommodation to UK postgraduates, but we will assist you if we can.

If you would like some help with accommodation, please get in touch. Alternatively there is plenty of good quality private housing available in Leeds.

Families

If you are coming to Leeds with your partner or children, we have some family accommodation close to the University but places are limited.

Applicants with disabilities

If you need any assistance or have specific requirements for your accommodation then we want to help.

University accommodation

Our high-quality accommodation is close to the University and Leeds city centre. It ranges from modern purpose-built apartments to Victorian houses and offers:

  • a choice of contract lengths
  • flexible payment methods
  • rents that include energy charges, internet access and off-peak membership of The Edge sports facility
  • a 24-hour security service
  • insurance cover for your personal possessions (terms and conditions apply)
  • help and support from wardens and resident subwardens

Application FAQ's

Updating your email address

If you are a direct entry undergraduate student, an international exchange student or a research postgraduate you will need to contact your admissions team and ask them to update their record to your new email address for you.

If you are a taught postgraduate student, you will need to log into the applicant portal and update the address yourself.

If you are a UCAS applicant, you will need to update your email address in your UCAS profile.

Each of these methods will take a few days to process into our system, so you will not be able to access the application until this has happened.

If you still have access to your registered email address, please use this to complete your application.

Creating your account

If the email to create your account is not coming through to your main inbox, please check all of your spam, junk and clutter folders, as we have had reports from other students that they have found the email there.

Sometimes different browsers and device settings can prevent messages from getting through, so we also recommend that you check your emails on a PC/laptop (rather than just a tablet or phone) or, if you were already doing so, use a different browser to check your mail boxes.

The link provided in the email will allow you to set your own password and then access the accommodation application form. This link is only valid for one hour, but if you miss this deadline, don't worry, you can just request it to be sent again by entering your email address again.

Changing your application

Unfortunately, we will not be able to unlock your application to allow you to make changes after 1 July. If you have a serious problem with your application, or your circumstances have changed, please get in touch with us to discuss this further.
